Ok I've done my research on this and I still cannot get it to work...

I Bought and Xp Disk but, It doesnt detect my harddrive (Classic Sata Problem)

So I hear there are two ways to get around this...

1.)Change AHCI in Bios, which doesnt work for me because my laptop doesnt seem to have this Option in Bios, so thats out...

2.) And Slipstreaming which I have found drivers that people have refferred to other people but I dont quite understand how they work...(The tutorial I was reading and the drivers I downloaded didnt add up)

So I was hoping someone could give me specific instructions( for my model) for either of these methods to install Xp (Spent lot of cash on the disk dont want it go to to waste) Can anyone help ?

The Acer 3680 was sold with the Bare Minimum of hardware needed to run vista so it runs like crap... With no programs running it is running roughly 30-39% CPU usage...And when I get a tutroial for slipstreaming it would Be helpful if it told me EXACTLY the name of the drivers I need I have been using some weird files from a chipset pack by acer but I cant find anything in there thats similar to the drivers in the tutorials mainy because the tuts dont say Exactly what Drivers to use, thats why im looking for someone who has done it before on this laptop so they can give me exact precise instructions...

Hi again, then read the link I sent to you, it contains precise instructions on how to install XP. Obviously it is for a different latop however if you could post the exact hardware yours has then I might be able to link you...
Vista does consume rescources but but not 30-39% of CPU, that will be another program that Acer has installed, or AV. CPU usage has nothing to do with hardware when Vista itself is idling. Choice is yours of course...
