Hello,
I was wondering if anybody would be able to help me with a little volume problem i'm having.
I recently installed Windows 7 RTM. Everything was working fine including the volume control. Then one day i booted the laptop and was unable to control the volume using the volume dial on the front of the laptop.
Some information:
>The volume dial hardware is working fine because when i boot into Vista there are still no problems
>When i turn the dial, the volume does not change either up or down
Is anybody able to give me any information as to what drivers control the volume dial or as to what software may be required to make it work again.
Thank you

Hi, welcome to NBR.
I'd start with reinstalling the Launch Manager.

Ah, this is definitely the cause of the problem. When i close the launch manager the volume dial works again (albeit it changes the volume rather slowly).
However, reinstalling the launch manager doesn't help. When i install the program it says 'This is not a current operation system!'. Then Windows offers to install launch manager with 'the recommended settings'. Then the launch manager works but the volume does not.
So i assume to get the two working well together i'll just have to wait for Acer to release a version of launch manager compatible with Windows 7.
Thank you -
Usually it recommends Xp which will not work right. -
Thank you very much
