I have installed for a friend of mine a D-Link WLAN router.

With my Mac Powerbook I see the net and can connect to it.

Their Acer Travelmate 4050 does nor see the WLAN net. The WLAN Adapter is activated. Its possible that the antenna inside is not connected.

I am looking for a service instruction how to open the TM 4050 to verify the antenna connection.

Or are there other reasons for this failure?

I guess I'd question a few more basic things first, are you sure it even HAS WLAN, are you sure that it's enabled (both external on/off switches and activated)

sure, the TM HAS a WLAN card. The hardware manager also says that is activated.

External switches for the WLAN card? where?
