    WSXGA+ Screen ... 125dpi ... jagged/pixelated quickstart & tray icons

    I am running full 1680*1080 resolution on my Ferrari 4005i because anything else is blurry.

    I think the Acer was shipped from the factory at 120dpi (125%zoom). The icons in the tray and taskbar seem to be pixelated/jagged. When I switch to 96dpi (normal zoom) the icons look fine. The problem with this is that the text is very small and strains my eyes to read.

    I've been reading up on the issue and from what I gather is that WinXP doesn't support widescreen LCDs @ 125% zoom. Supposedly Dell released a patch for this.

    If anybody has a solution please let me know. Thanks.

    Well there probably isn't a "solution" per se.. just that the icons were disigned at a particular resolution as opposed to being vector-created, so when you increase the resolution, the pictures (icons) lose detail...

    I would enable ClearType - Right Click Desktop > Properties > Appearance > Effects > Enable ClearType.
