    Hello all

So I finally finished all my summer courses, and since I had a couple weeks before I start my graduate studies in September, I thought I should send my Acer Travelmate 800 in for warranty repair. It was a difficult decision to part with the notebook, but there were several problems with it that bugged me, but never affected the performance of the machine. Here were the problems I had with it:
-The screen started developing some play in the hinge. Basically I would open it, it would stop but it would flap back and fourth about half an inch if I moved it. Didn't affect the usage of the computer, just annoying, that's all.
-The left click button didn't pop back up. One day when I was using it, I heard a click, and it just stayed down. If I flipped it over, the button would pop back out, but the second I set it down again, the button would recess again. But since I can just tap the pad to click, I didn't find it too much of an issue.
So, two problems, both pretty minor. I called up Acer last Wednesday to get a service ticket. They gave me instructions on how to send it in. I took it into Purolator on Thursday and it arrived at Acer Repair depot in Mississauga, Ontario on Friday. Today is Wednesday, and I got it back just now. Total turnaround time including shipping and weekends was 6 days. Acer replaced the screen cover and the touchpad module. Generally speaking, I am very happy with the customer service. The speed cannot be compared to that of IBM, but it is definitly better than Toshiba!
