    Hey Guys,
I'm new here and wondered if someone could help me out with something...

I have an Acer Aspire 5935G, and every time I pick it up, I hear a kind of clicking noise coming from the same area as the fan.

My laptop burns up real quick, which makes it literally too hot to touch underneath, but the fan still seems to be blowing hot air out. I though that it could be dust around the fan, but then though why would it make a clicking noise? So I just want to get other opinions before I open up :)

    What could be the problem?

    Thanks in advance

EDIT: It sounds like something small keeps getting caught in the fan, is this a possibility?

The best thing for you would be to open it (if not under warranty) and check from where does that clicking sound comes and if it is up to the fan then replace it...

Also you could try replacing thermal paste on your CPU and GPU and put Arctic silver 5 if you are having troubles with overheating...

    Hope this will be useful...

    Cheers

I'd go about buying a new fan. I've seen it happening a couple of times and it always looks the same- first some insignificant noise, then some proper noise and in the end you end up with a diesel engine sound.
Checking if it looks OK inside- like Arminator suggested- is a good idea but I'm pretty sure you won't find anything inside. The sound may stop for a while if you touch/push the fan slightly but it will come back.
