Thanks to you guys for the link to order it here in the US!

My main computer is a Macbook Pro. I've been missing PC gaming a bit, and I went from thinking about a m11x to trying to game in a VM (and expecting too much), to thinking about Boot Camp. I decided against Boot Camp due to the rebooting, space issues and because I have a large LCD hooked up.

Anyway, I read good things about 4820TG (although I would have preferred the 3820TG) so I pulled the trigger. I was about to buy the i3 but decided on the i5. For the $100 and the bigger hard drive, I figured what the heck.

Hope it's as good as the pictures! :)

    Thanks guys!

It was $899 + $20 standard shipping from MicroCenter.com. Item #742452. I thought about the i3 but I wanted the bigger hard drive and then justifying about $50 more for a little better processor wasn't hard. I still figure it was cheaper than the m11x with a much better processor, a little better GPU and a dvd burner. The extra size wasn't a big deal to me. We have a 1410 and I like Acer's designs.

Not sure about the unboxing video, but I can do some pictures and quick review. I hope they ship it soon. It's the first time I've dealt with them.

Bronsky, good luck on getting your laptop soon! You have a lot of patience! What made you commit to the 3820? The dual fans and the size? If you knew it was going to take so long would you have considered the 4820?

Patience is my middle name. :D The 13.3" is the perfect size for me. I use my laptop for presentations as well as at the office. Portability is everything. Even if I knew, I probably would have waited anyway. It was the 3820TG or the SonyZ.

What is the big difference between the i3 and the i5? I am unfamiliar with that.

The i3-350M is clocked at 2.26 GHz and has no turbo boost. The i5-450M is clocked at 2.4 GHz and has turbo boost which can reach up to 2.66 GHz.

That and integrated Intel HD graphics have about ~100 MHz faster frequency with i5, if you care about that at all (which I don't think, since you will have 5650 for all the heavy lifting)

I ordered my 4820tg i5 on Saturday and it shipped today. When I called them they said they only had 9 in stock.

So does it mean it has 4 virtual cores? And how beneficial would it be to have the i5?
