For CPU shopping I'd suggest ebay because buying CPUs from newegg or other retailers will cost a fortune. As for a guide links, TehSuigi has a great one with pics and everything right here.

Ebay is good for some things, but i dont like buying hardware off their...i remeber i bought a dell of there it was worth it, but risky. The dell was crap but for the price it was a great deal. Does ebay even have returns?

The returns practically depends of the seller conditions but for more ebay questions I'd suggest you visit the ebay.com faqs.
Also, ebay might be risky but I bought a CPU for 80 euros while the price for a new one was more than 250. So I'd rather risk it and buy it from ebay than pay a full retail price, especially with laptop CPUs. But this is just me, if you prefer to buy brand new cpus(or any other laptop parts) be my guest -
What is your current processor? You should have a Intel PM965 chipset with a 800Mhz FSB (Front side bus) and your processor is probably a 45nm "Penryn". Use CPUID to find this info.
Penryn
T8100 - 2.10Ghz
T8300 - 2.40Ghz
T9300 - 2.50Ghz
T9500 - 2.60Ghz
I believe you can use any Core2Duo cpu with a FSB of 800Mhz, Merom (65nm), and C2D Extreme (can someone verify please), but you may run into BIOS and heat problems with the Merom and Extreme CPUs.
Your best bet to finding cpus at a decent price is ebay, find the sSpec # of the cpu you are looking for and plug it in to the search on ebay. Intel's C2D Mobile processor list is here. Hope this helps.
Were could i find places to buy CPU for my aspire 6920g? and how?
