    Hi,

Does anyone know the make and model of the blu-ray drive in the Acer 5738?

I've got a Acer Aspire 5738 with a standard DVD drive and am thinking about getting a blu-ray drive instead. I phoned acer spare parts, but they don't have a blu-ray drive for that model (even though it is possible to buy a 5738 with a blu-ray installed by the manufacturer such as the Aspire 5738G-644G32Bn configuration here). Bit of a noob when it comes to buying components for laptops, so any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks

HL-CT10N - which has the appropriate firmware
HL-CT10L - may need AnyDVD to properly work

the service manual reads: HLDS BD COMBO DRIVE TRAY DL 4X CT10 LF, but that part doesn't seem to exist. Although CT10L is all over the place.

    CT10L also = DS-4E1S

basically you want a SATA 12.7mm Tray Load drive...
