Of course, no help from Acer's Technical Services on the following for the Extensa 5620-4025:

    AC Adapter.
Yes I know it is a 65Watt, but the parts list only one 65 Watt adapter and DO NOT indicate that it is for the Extensa 5620-4025. Looked on the web for a replacement OEM part and none seem to exist for this model. There are Acer 65 Watt adapters for their other models.

What is the part number and What Model(s) of the Acer line uses the same part?

    Battery
Same questions as above…………..How do I identify the battery for the EX5620-4025?
2ndly, is there a larger capacity that works with this model?

    Memory
I tried to get the part number to identify the memory inside the unit. It seems that there are two speeds that are acceptable. Need to up the memory to the 2GB, or is that wrong and it can be greater.

Please let me know by part number what to order for 1GB memory units?

    on the BATTERY...

BUY IT FROM ACER... we see 90% or more of NON-ACER BATTERIES fail if they ever work at all
there is a reason that is RED

MEMORY.. any 1gig DDR2 PC5300 SO-DIMMs should work,,, i would recommed buying 2 pieces of 1gig PC6400 SO-DIMMS (while the speed is way beyond the SPECs of your laptop... you may be able to use it in a future PC, and the PC6400 is only a few $'s more than PC5300 speeds)

my 5315 power adapter has sticker w part # AP06500301

i'm gonna try to check the SERVICE GUIDE FOR YOUR MODEL IF I CAN FIND IT

ANY DDR2 pc5300 or PC6400 should work for you... but don't buy RAM off EBAY,,, RAM is cheap enough from places like NEWEGG or www.crucial.com

ONLY BUY ACER BATTERIES (not universal replacments)... i would only BUY BATTERIES DIRECTLY FROM ACER...

any AC adapter w/ the correct PLUG that outputs 19Volts at 65 watts should be fine!!!

    Thank you for the details

Could not get an answer from ACER.

Since they only show one 65WATt AC adpter, I thought it would be easy but of course they do not have it.

    Thank you again

    no problem...

any ACER AC ADAPTER with the correct PLUG that oputputs 19volts @ 65 watts should work fine...

the BATTERY should be purchased from ACER directly if you want a battery that works..

and RAM CAN BE PURCHASED ANYWHERE..
    http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Aspire 5310

you can buy PC6400 ram and it will work,,, and may give you a 2% performance increase over the PC5300 crucial suggests... notice on the LEFT SIDE where they talk about supported RAM they state PC4200... thing is nobody makes PC4200 since PC5300 and PC6400 are better and both are backwards compatible...

but the PC6400 should have lower LATENCY times meaning a SMALL perfromance increase when compaired to PC5300 or PC4200

personally i would buy 2 of these

BigO - lower latencies aren't a guarantee when dealing with higher speeds of RAM. PC2-4200 and PC2-5300 RAM modules have the same latencies when operating at DDR2-533 speeds.

And even the "use in future laptops" comment is only valid if said new laptop uses DDR2 RAM. Remember, there's gonna be a switch to DDR3 soon enough.

see the BIG BOLD RED WORD...

you are correct,,, but by going with PC6400 ram in a 533mhz system,, he should get better speed because the latency times will be lower.... and while the speed gain is not humanly perceptable... i feel it's better to buy ram that might be useable in the future instead of ram that is already discontinued... especially when the prices are almost identical,,, if nothing else by purchasing PC6400 ram the user has a better chance of it being useable in other systems and he will find it easier to sell PC6400 ram in the future verses trying to sell PC4200...
