    my SpeedFan says HDD 47c, ACPI temp - 52c, core 1, core 2 - 31c. Note that I am only on messengers and wireless now. Are these temperatures normal?

    Your hdd temp is a little high but not unusual (maybe Vista was busy indexing or something), and the ACPI temp is very high, core temp is normal.

    If i were you i'd monitor your temps for a while under different circumstances to see what they are doing. Through your task manager you can see exactly what processes are active.

    SpeedFan have -15C Bug for core2Duo Processor.So your CPU temps should be 45-46C.You can see correct CPU temp from Core Temp 0.95.4 Beta

    Here's mine
    HDD-HITACHI 5K160 = 42C While normal work
    45-48C While Playing Game
    ACPI=50-51 Idle /76C Gaming
    CPU0=45-47C Idle/72C-76C Gaming
    CPU1=45-48C Idle/72C-76C Gaming

    How can you say it's high for ACPI ?mine never going below 48C :(
