I try to find the right Nvidia driver for my 5920G with 8600M GS card for gaming. Right now the driver is the version coming with the laptop.

I would like to know which version of Nvidia driver you recommend?

    Thanks.

I'd reccomend laptopvideo2go (link in post above) - there's a very good tutorial on the site that explains how it works. Version 169.04 seems to be the most stable right now - if you need help just ask :)

Beware however - using lv2g drivers might make your HD DVD not work/underperform (unless you use AnyDVD HD apparently - but I haven't tried this out yet :()

Can't help there - mine's a standard HD DVD one. Did you buy the Blu-Ray drive seperately? What model is it? I'm interested in doing that for my own 5920G, you see =)

Try searching the forums (top-right corner there's a search box) - I remember seeing something about a BR-drive with graphics problems there as well. :)

Some threads said if the driver is not "MS WHQL Certificate", the blu-ray disk playing back has problem.

Therefore, I checked www.laptopvideo2go.com to find out what is the latest driver with "MS WHQL Certificate" and the orginal INF supporting 8600M GS. The one I found is "nVIDIA ForceWare X 175.76 for Windows Vista 32bit" which is released by nvidia ( http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showforum=93). I understand that this driver can be installed without modded inf.

    I am right?

    Thanks.

Well, the Acer ftp only has version 156.72 on it, which I'm certain is stock for your model.
I've personally heard good things about 169.04 and 174.74 from LV2Go. Just make sure you have that WHQL certificate.
