    What is my clock generator?

    I have an Acer Aspire 5750 (not 5750G) with the Acer JE50_HR motherboard. Since I only have 2.1 ghz, I want to overclock my processor, but I don't know what my Clock Generator is. I need it for SetFSB.

    Hey there, your CPU is not just 2.1ghz it will actually turbo much higher than that.

    Also sandy bridge CPUs clocks are tightly linked (and generated on chip) therefore you can't raise the base clock to overclock them more than a few Mhz.

    Also even the same model of notebook can have different clock generators used in different machines.

    Actually, I checked, the i3-2310M has no turbo.

    Ah, well you can't overclock it however.

    You could upgrade the CPU but that's about it.

    Why do you want to overclock it though?

    Frequency is not everything.
