Heya. I just got an acer extensa 5420 yesterday.
Graphics are supposedly at radeon HD 2400 XT, with 256megs of dedicated vram and the option to use regular ram as hypermemory.

My problem is, whats the deal with the clock speeds?
This screen shot should explain everything....Clock speeds are half of what they should be.

Please note that powerplay will cut graphics performance to save power in Windows 2D Mode it will only ramp up to 600MHZ when gaming.

Yup - ATi and Nvidia both have the ability to let their GPUs slip into a lower-power mode when not needed. ATi calls it PowerPlay, Nvida dubs it PowerMizer.

Get a game revved up and you should notice your clocks are back to normal.
