The screen has white backlight when power on and laptop boots up without anything displayed. When I connect it to an external monitor, it works fine on the external monitor just no display on the laptop. It has white backlight, can I assume the inverter board is OK? After connected on the external monitor for about half an hour a ew vertical lines and horizontal lines appear on the laptop screen but the external monitor is not affected at all. Do I need a new screen?

Thanks. Just bid one from eBay to repair it.
