To all users of TravelMate 3201XCi, i'm going to upgrade my trusty old acer tm3201 to another level. however, i can't seem to find the hidden ram slot, which is believed to be under the keyboard, so i unscrew the keyboard and lifted up the keyboard but i don't see any ram. where could it be hidden? I know the other slot is hidden at the back of the laptop which is together with the HDD when the cover is being unscrewed.

beside this question, i would like to find out whether my tm3200 is able to upgrade the processor? will it void my warranty?

You definitely have two slots, I would think the one under the keyboard would be plainly visible. That's the one with the current RAM in it most likely.

As to the CPU, you can probably upgrade it with a higher speed processor in teh same family of what you have now. As to the warranty, definitely. In fact, you may have voided it when you removed the keyboard, of course they'll never know.

The internal slot is buried deep inside the unit, if you want I can send you a PDF showing you how to take the unit apart to get to it.

Yea its underneath the touchpad. Expect to take the entire thing apart. I had to take out more than 20 screws to get to it. I cleaned my heatsink while I was at it too.
