My order at the evil store of buy.com never didn't go through. Now I can't find one anywhere for a reasonable price. Anyone know of a store that has them IN STOCK for 1200-1300 US dollars?

    nowhere. they are gone :(
you may try niceelectronics.com, that's where I did get mine from.
but the customer service there is horrible.
but give it a try - that is the cheapest place for 2012 ($1250)

yeah, they just messed up my order...they are sending me a wlci...which I'm going to send right back at them and get a refund.

Amazing how many of these stores are filled with inconpetent people. The guys don't even know that the difference in optical drive is not the only one between the lci and wli...but also the graphics card! which sucks in the LCI...

    oh well...gotta be patient

i keep checking web stores. none of them have it right now. only found it for 1500$ and more. even contacted acer and was told that they still have it in /even though it was discontinued/ but i have to contact reseller to help me get one. all the resellers are just getting it in four weeks or so /they are not sure, might be longer/, thats just too long for me since i am leavin usa in the begining of october. if you guys find one somewhere pls let me know.

the replacement is acer aspire 1681, kind of same, comes with dothan and new design. for me its battery is major drawback cause it lasts only up to 2.5 hours instead of 5.

the acer 4500 series looks very similar to the aspire 2000 series, save for the newer 'folio' design, although the hard drive lists at 40 gb to 2012wlmi's 60...
