I see where one can get the 5600mAh battery for the 1810 for $90 ( http://www.cheap-laptop-batteries.com/laptop-battery/acer-um09e36.htm), but cannot find the smaller capacity battery anywhere.
I keep find batteries for the 15" 1410 that has a 14.8V battery, but nothing for the 11" 1410
I am still waiting for my 1410 to be shipped, but know I need an extra battery for international flight.
Does anyone have a part number or link to where one can be purchased for a reasonable price?
Thanks
UPDATE 12-3-2009
==============
After receiving the as1410 I have found the following:
AS1410 ships with the battery model number: UM09e31 - 6 Cell Battery
A 5600mAh Replacement Acer UM09E31 6 Cell Battery can be purchased for $90 here:
http://www.global-laptop-batteries.com/acer-laptop-battery/Acer-UM09E31-6-Cell-Battery.html
AS1810 ships with battery model number: UM09e36 - 6 Cell Battery
A 5600mAh Replacement Acer UM09E36 6 Cell Battery can be purchased for $85 here:
http://www.cheap-laptop-batteries.com/search.php?keywords=as1810t&category_id=&Submit2=Search
I would assume these two replacement batteries are actually the same, since they have the same specifications and nearly the same cost.
Found one post that said the battery for the Acer Aspire One 751 may fit, but the bulge on the bottom would be on the back instead of middle of the battery. I am not sure if this will work or not, but the batteries have the right voltage and cost a lot less. It has a part number of um09b31 and can be found lots of place with various capacities.
Hope this helps someone else that needs an extra battery at the cost of 25% of the laptop purchase price.

Could you not just use an 1810 battery? It should give you longer battery life too.

I'm happy to see that others are looking into this. About a month ago I looked and looked for a replacement battery for this computer. As it was stated by the thread starter, the only one I found was the Timeline 5600maH battery for $85. I know it's expensive, but it does last an hour or so longer than the original and these batteries are impossible to find.
I assumed it wouldn't be a big deal replacing these things. Ugh. I guess that is what happens when you deal with a computer manufacturer that has 1,000s of different laptop numbers.
I left my computer on sitting there and it drained the battery all the way. (Didn't go to sleep and went to hibernate as a last resort.) Because of it, I now have a 1.9% wear level (which isn't terrible) and wanted to replace later on.
If you find the 6-cell 4400mAH battery anywhere for sale, let us know. -
-
I am still without a battery.
Which battery did you guys buy?
cheaplaptopbatteries says they only carry a 5200mah model, and the globallaptopbatteries charges 20$ more then 15$ for shipping, so much costlier at 125$ compared to ~90$. -
aydn: I did not buy one yet. With teh lower capacity from Cheap laptop Battery, it does not make sense (and the price is a little high for a 5200 batt.).
Don't know what to do .... seems very odd that Acer did not provided some extra battery or information about batteries on their site.
If anyone knows a new site, with either the 4400 battery or any other large capacity, that would be nice to share it here -
Just looked up a review for the Timeline 1810T, and it has a 5600 mAh capacity. This is the same amount that is offered by "Cheap Laptop Batteries" -
From "LAPTOP Magazine":
-
Anyone feel like contacting them and convincing them there's a market for this? I know for Canada in the Bestbuy and Futureshop chain there were 16,000 sold in 5 months the as1410-xxxx and Gateway variants were carried.
-
The ones from cheap laptop batteries are OEM Acer batteries. Well worth the price. I was one of the first to buy the 5600mah from there and sold my 4400mah shortly afterwards. I get around 7.5-8hours battery life now on my 1410. I used EMS shipping method got the battery in less than a week and it was around $100 shipped at the time.

Hello All - a new Acer 1410 user here.. but have other, larger, laptops - so not a new computer user, just new to Acer 1410.
I just posted this on another Thread - but now see others are having problems too..
I'm considering getting another battery for my 1410. In searching the web, I see many 'claim' to have the battery - but the picture in the ad is wrong. Looking on the battery is has a number UM09E31. When I search for this I find..
"The battery is Acer part number UM09E31, but as of October, 2009, there was no source for that battery. Acer's warranty requires a lawyer to decipher, saying to contact a "Call ..."
Has anyone purchased another battery, and if so, can you let me know the part number and where you purchased it.
I'd almost pay $100 for a battery if I knew it would work.
Scott
***** Update... 12/19/09 - Just got the battery from Cheap Laptop Batteries, and it fits, but there are no markings on the battery as to the part number.. I ordered the UM09E36. The battery case is a bit 'twisted' so the left side of the screen rubs against it when I open the lid. I am testing it now. Most labels have been removed and replaced from what I can tell. There is a B09-128-101 label on it.. not sure what that means. I will update as I get more information. -
So the battery will cost about 80$ + shipping.
I wonder if it is really worth the price. I mean, I get a great time on the original one (about 6.3min), but will travel to Europe this Christmas, and 2 batteries would be nice to achieve a full day.
Any idea if the price is worth-it (80$) for a 5200? -
When I go to Cheap Laptop Batteries.com, and put in Acer 1410, the wrong batttery comes up. This battery will not fit my model. My battery has the number UM09E31 on it. If it fit, I'd buy it for $80 if it was 5200mah.
Is there another battery I missed?
Scott -
Also be aware that if you carry a second li-ion laptop battery on a plane they want it in the original packaging/or the contacts taped to prevent explosions. -
I always had 1 or 2 spare and they bothered me, but I know that supposedly, one should have the packaging ... -
Scott -
Apparently this 5200 mah one for 58$ is compatible with the 09b31 so I think I will jump on this!
http://www.battdepot.ca/item/notebook+battery/um09b71/lac213.aspx -
/\ that's an aspire one battery, not a CULV battery. Can anyone comment to whether it'll work?
-
SHEESH. Where is the 5600mah as1810 battery?! -
Had this posted on another Acer thread that closed.. I ordered a battery from Cheap Laptop Batteries.com per others posts on this.. this was my 1st post..
Will be interesting to see what I get, the part number is the E36.. so either the info is wrong on the web - stating the E36 is a 5200mah, or they have made a new E36 which is 5200mah.. I'd sure like the E36 to be 5600mah..
I looked up a few E36's.. they state:
ACER Li-ion battery UM09E36,Rating 11.1V 5200mAh 58Wh
Even though the link states..
ACER Li-ion battery UM09E36,Rating 11.1V 5600mAh 63Wh
Another states:
Product ID:1001970
Battery Type:Li-ion
Battery Voltage:11.1 V
Battery Capacity:5600 mAh (6 cell)
Battery Color:Black
And the last site I'll check says..
Product ID: 1001970
Battery Type: Li-ion
Voltage: 11.10 V
Capacity: 5200 mAh
Color: Black
Same exact part number.. can't wait to see what comes in..
Scott
---------------------------
The new battery just arrived - no part number on it related to UM09E36.. just a B09-128-101. Not sure what this is. The battery is showing 5:20 hours out of the box - no charge with 59,796mWh potential. The battery case is a little warped causing the left side of the monitor to rub against it when I open the lid. I am concerned a little that all labels seems to have been replaced on the battery and no marking showing what I bought.

I really wouldn't mind picking up a 5600 battery, but for the price I'd like to be sure I'm getting one that fits and is legitimate.
-
I can't believe we can't find a source for spare batteries...
What was the final verdict from cheap-laptop batteries? 5600 or 5200? -
I'm not entirely sure if the batterry that Scott C got from "Cheap Laptop Batteries" was a yeah or neh. I honestly think we don't have that much of a choice as it's the only real place that ships out a battery that will fit in these notebooks and is a 6-cell.
At roughly $100, it's a bit steep -- but it's better than having a 50% used battery that doesn't hold it's charge. At least there are some options out there. -
Some may find this helpful.
After a lot of research I purchased a AS1410-2801 last week.
Here are the details on the battery that came with my AS1410:
Part Number: UM09E51
Voltage: 10.8V
Capacity: 4400mAh 48Wh
It is rather difficult finding batteries for the 11.6" machines online at this point. I havne't called Acer, but I am thinking that they may be able to offer some suggestions on where to obtain an extra battery.
If anyone has an AS1810 it would be nice if they can post their stock battery information on here. -
Not sure if this is an appropriate posting so if anyone objects, would the mods please delete or move this post. I'm only trying to help.
I, too, was looking for a place to buy spare batteries for my laptop but I was impatient and ended up getting it direct from Acer.
If anyone is interested in getting a spare 5600maH battery for the acer 1810 laptop, I'm going to be receiving my three-pack (direct from Acer - my brother has a connection through his work...) next week and will be keeping two of them.
The price ended up being $234CAD + TAX or roughly $265CAD.
If you live in Toronto, you can pick it up for 1/3rd the total cost (roughly $90CAD) from my house. I will make a photocopy of the receipt if you want it.
Or I can mail it out for $88CAD plus the actual cost of shipping (should be between $7 to $15 depending on location, US or Canada.)
Otherwise, wait about 3 months for the distributors to ramp up production on the OEM models. -
My Acer notebook is AS1410-8804, my original battery is um09e71. Can anyone give me advise, where can I get that battery. Thanks.

Any news for the battery ?
If not, how is the 5200 fairing ? I read that it touch the screen a little ? Should it be a concern?
If there is nothing from Acer, I will have to go for the 5200 one ... -
Thank you Order Status!!!
I have no idea what to do with so many electronics, I may be developing psychosis from trying to wrap my brain around how many electronics i now behold.
6.25*10^18electrons per second in 1 A.. I have 5.6A... BUT THATS PER HOUR!!! OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW A BLACKHOLE HASNT FORMED YET IS BEYOND ME THIS DEFIES PHYSICS ENTIRELY. -
Directly from Acer ?
Do you have a link or something ?
I will be in serious need for a spare battery soon .... -
A quick post to let you know that CLB had teh rpice down to 80.99 (as of today) and they put back 5600mah!
I was checking every week (I know, I am crazy), and ordered this time. -
My brother has tie-ins with Acer's corporate division. He got it directly from them. If you want, I can see about getting one for you. The cost will be roughly $90CAD plus shipping.... just PM me, or send me an email if you're interested.
ETA: Whoa - just beat me to it! But, I always prefer the genuine brand name batteries. Had too many issues with no-name knockoffs in the past. -
But I may still need a new one: i just ordered the same notebook for my gf and she wants more uptime (at least 8+ hours - i got 6hr on the 4400 so far).
By the way, does someone knows how to remove the keyboard (screw at the bottom, remove from top ..?)
Just asking as I will need to tape mine (it pops out of its hinge - i put it back but it starts to bug me in class ....). My gf's one is bouncing too ...
S. -
The keyboard removes from the top. No need to mess with any screws. You just need to push the little tabs on the top and sides of the keyboard while GENTLY pulling the keyboard up.
I use toothpicks or thin plastic stubs to do that (break/shave some plastic dinner utensils into a flat tipped depresser for the occasion). Try not to use any metal tools or you *might* risk scratching up the casing (although, I was able to remove without any scratches using my mini flathead screwdriver from my eyeglass repair kit).
In your case, just have it "pop", and then follow along the edges, depress each catch and pop the rest of the keyboard out. VERY strange that it pops out, though... You might want to request a non-warped keyboard - could be a manufacturing defect? In your gf's case, a few strips of thin double sided foamtape along the middle of the keyboard will minimise the flex.
Also, once you've "snapped" the keyboard tray out, don't pull it off the laptop. You have to gently unhinge the connectors first, then slide the ribbon cable out and then finally separate the keyboard tray from the laptop.
It's actually quite simple - just take your time and be gentle.
All the best. -
Hi all, I have also been debating on getting a 5600mAh battery as well. I got a 1410 (su2300) back in November, I love the laptop, and with few tweaks, I been able to get about 5h-15min to 5h-45min of battery out of the 4400mAh battery. But unfortunately 5+ hour is not enough sometimes, I am currently getting my masters, and sometime i study 10+ hour straight in the library/B&N, so I am very tempted by the battery upgrade.
If my calculation is correct: 5.5 hour / 4400mAh * 5600mAh should yield me: ~7 hours, but that still is not quite enough sometimes. Unfortunately I usually to busy to remember to charge both battery to full charge, so carries a secondary battery is not very doable for me. So I am hoping that someone with a upgraded battery for the 1410 can confirm my battery assumption about the 5600mAh battery (~7 hours). Also do anyone know if Acer plans to release a ultra high density 6-8 cell? (6200mAh-7800mAh).
Lastly I want to say hi to fellow NBR members. -
Just for the heads up - I went and checked eBay to see if batteries for the AS1410 computer are listed. (Eventually they are -- sometimes ... just got to wait.)
And ta da -- it appears you can buy AS1410 (11.6" variant) batteries through eBay. It is coming through China/Hong Kong - and the shipping to your door will be about 2 weeks, but the price is significantly cheaper than Cheap Laptop Batteries. (Which, last time I looked - it was $85+$9 shipping) These are eBay from China/HK are going for $70 with free shipping. Just remember you'll probably have to wait two weeks to have it appear at your door.

how long will these batteries last?
-
JustBrowsing, the one you listed on ebay are the 5200mAh type, the updated one from CLB are 5600mAh, do you know a source on ebay or anywhere else that have the 5600mAh battery for less then CLB ($85)?
-
They also have the 4400 mAh.
I should have waited .... and gotten the larger capacity one. Maybe I will get one later for my gf.
If anyone is ordering one of these new batteries, please report as to the quality/productivity of them.
I will try to report on the 5600 as soon as I receive it.

Sbabolat, I am not so sure about the 5800mAh one, all factory battery on the 1410 and 1810t are 11.1v, but the 5800mAh is 10.8v. I am not sure if 11.1v is sufficient for the duel core 1410 and 1810t, maybe for the core 2 solo 1410 and 1810tz.
Do anyone have experience with 10.8v battery on their duel core 1410 or 1810t?
I think the safe bet for now is the 5600mAh/11.1v for the $80 + shipping. -
Edit: Went ahead and ordered the 5800mAh, 10.8v model UM09E36 for $88.29 shipped (2% PayPal discount). If it doesn't work, well, I'm out the cost shipping both ways and we all learned something new. They also have a 5800mAh UM09E31 which is my part number. If it does work, in combination with my SSD, I expect about 8 hours of battery life.
(And I'll have an authentic stock 1410 4400mAh battery for sale)
-
Jlbrightbill, Once you get the battery, please post a impression and review, specially the actual mWh and mAh readying for the battery.
Also I did a little bit digging further on my 1410, my battery according to RMClock, has 47,520mAh capacity (which is little bit less then the 48,000mAh advertised), made by Sanyo, model #:UM09E31, and under battery power, I have seem the power draw go above 11.25v.
I wounder what is the max mAh that can be put into a 6 cell battery. I seem some 6cell battery with a rating of 6200mAh before. -
My speculation is that Cheap Laptop Batteries E36 and E31 batteries (1810 and 1410) are identical, but they slap a different sticker on them before they leave the warehouse. Same price, etc.
-
Still - the good news is that 5600mAh battery is now a little cheaper than before and it looks like they're switching inventories on a constant basis. I'd be really interested to see if the 10.8V/5800mAh battery works for your Acer 1410.
I don't really need a battery yet; but it's good that finally finding these things are not as difficult as the were say October.
