I was looking at the Acer 1410 with the su2300 processor on bhphotovideo.com ($399) last night and was going to purchase today. I woke up and it was discontinued. Then I was going to buy off newegg.com and cop the $30 extra. Just as I was about to buy, it said it was out of stock with an eta in early February. I don't know if this is due to Acer removing them or a bad coincidence, however I would like to grab one soon. Where's the best place to get one for a reasonable price? I'm in Australia and will use an postage forwarder so I can't get one in store.

    Thanks

My suspicion is that the "old" $399 SU2300 version of the 1410 has gone away permanently, as Acer realized they were offering TOO much bang for the buck in comparison to the competition.

Anyway, the closest you can get it what appears to be a new SU2300-based 1410 SKU at Amazon for $450:

    http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-A...2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1263243245&sr=8-2

Getting a 250GB HDD isn't worth a $50 premium, but at least it's better than being gouged for a 160GB version like several e-tailers have been doing, and it's still worth a $50 premium IMO over the single core Celeron 743.

    Honestly, I'd like to see Acer's 11.6" Aspire lineup be consistent with the SU2300 at $399, the SU4100 1810TZ at $499 and the SU7300 1810T at $550.

It looks like it won't be around for long. I'll probably just grab that one. Thanks for the link
