Which Acer 8006LMi or 2026WLM?

Which Laptop should i get out of these 2 the :-

Acer TravelMate 8006LMi
or
Acer Aspire 2026WLM

what are the major differences, which one is a nicer shape, etc.

They are basically the same price and specs so which is best?

Since these units are similarly spec'd, you can't really ask for the major differences. the only "major" differences are in the LCD size and the casing. The 8006 has a 15" SXGA+ LCD (1400x1050), while the 2026 has a 15.4" Wide Screen WXGA LCD (1280x800). The casing for the 8006 is silver/grey plastic, while the 2026 (if the same as the 2025WLMi) has an aliminum casing with a different color scheme (silver/black). Also, the 8006 has Bluetooth integrated.

Mainly, it'll just come down to what features you need/want and the size of the unit. Generally, which LCD you like better.

Get the Travelmate model. I love my Travelmate 4501WLMi, and I beleive that Acer considers the Travelmate to be to be in it's "business class" which may mean they put more emphasis on accesories and upgrade potential into their Travelmate series.
That's just my opinion.

The 2026 also have BT built in. I got the 2025 instead of the 8006 as it's looks great and the 1280x800 was actually easier on these old eyes.

 

Hi Wiz33, I'm also looking at the 2026WLMi (model CL32). There appears to be no reference to it incorporating bluetooth in any of the specs. or advertizing I have come across to date. I would appreciate your advise as to where I may be able to find this information.

Damn. I stand corrected. It seems Acer did notput BT in the 2026, only the 2025. That's totally strange.
