I bought an Acer 1410 with default OS of Windows XP. Now I want to install a new Windows. Which windows is better for a good battery performance

    Windows 7
    Windows Server 2000
    Windows Vista SP2

and one more question. Acer 1410 works with x64 or x86 OS? :)

    Thanks

Windows 7, either 32 or 64 bit would work.

I'm pretty sure Windows 95 will work too.

Vista has more or less been completely superseded by 7. And running a Windows Server OS on a notebook doesn't quite make sense.
Go with Win7 - you won't regret it.

    Choose Windows 7 64-bit.

I'm interested in Windows Server, as it is faster without graphical features of windows; of course, it has some other features which are not needed for a laptop usage. Anyway, I am not interested in graphical effects of Windows, and I just prefer a fast performance.

Which processor does your new 1410 have?
    723?
    743?
    SU2300? (dual core)
    SU3500?

Windows 7 for sure, but I think 32-bit, except for the SU2300 dual core.
