I was about to purchase a 5735 before the 5738 came out. Acer call it to be a new laptop but the specs are identical, I've checked the acer site and its all the same other than the bio-security. Can anyone else explain the differences? Is the 5738 a better chassis etc because I can't tell why the 5738 is more expensive other than blu-ray etc, which my model won't have.

Both are Centrino 2 laptops as well.

Should I just go with the 5735. Anyone have any good experiences of using the 5735 laptop? Strong, quick and reliable?

I've got an offer to buy a 5738 with a 250HD for £419 and a 5735 with a 500HD for £440. Other than the hard drive and the fact that the 5738 is newer, which would you go for?

    Thanks!

    There is a difference
5738 uses a newer platform and runs on DDR3 Memory while 5735 runs on DDR2
