    Hello,

My sister has an Acer TravelMate laptop. It's about 2 years old and she hasnt had any problems with it until yesterday. Yesterday, she noticed a white horizontal line going straight across the center of the screen. The line doesn't move/disappear, it's just a fixed line across the screen. Both of my sisters claim they didn't drop the laptop at all. I obviously dont know for sure whether or not they did bang it on something/drop it/etc. but they are usually pretty careful with it.

What could cause this? Is this usually caused by damage to the LCD? Could it be an issue with whatever is lighting the screen?

    Thanks in advance. :)

Just FYI: Please do not cross post your questions as it just makes it harder for other members to help you as what could be a really good discussion just gets split in half (literally). Our members are fairly active, and we'll see your thread!

    Good luck with your problem!
