I have recently bought an Acer Aspire 3690 laptop, but the screen is so bad that it even reflects the slightest of lights, which makes it so difficult to see the screen unless you are sitting in total dark. It's almost as if a mirror has been installed instead of an screen!!!!

Is this a common problem with acer laptops or it is just my laptop. Also is there something I could buy and put on top of the screen that helps avoid reflection?

i've got that shiney ACER_BRIGHT LCD and while it is reflective,, i have no problem seeing the screen (text or images) unless in sunlight...

under normal house/office lighting i have no complaints...
but in sunlight it's almost totally un-usable!

same have no issues inside buildings. Acer's screen's are usually pretty good, acer notebooks have much much bigger issues than glare on screens usually.

you better try some anti-glare screen guard(Sticker) .Normally every glare type screen users face to your problem & it's normal. Why you forgot to check it before you buy?

Acer does not make their own screens and never have. They rely on LCD specialists.

Mine is still fine. No dead pixels or any problems. After almost 2 years.

    Bye bye,
    Theo
