    I have 1810 but the 1410 has the same toggle mechanism. The toggles definitely should move in the same direction. You reassembled wrong.

    my gateway ec1436u wifi toggle won't turn on wireless adapter anymore. I can still slide it, but there is no wireless adapter enabled.

    Heh, until I saw this I didn't even realize there were hardware toggles on the front for those ;)
