Hi guys I am about to order either the 8104 or the Ferrari but one thing worries me, If I buy the 8104 will it work with Vista???? Also The specs are the same for the two except for the processors right? I intend to keep it a few years so I may want to install Vista on it later. I was leaning toward the 8104 but because of the Vista uncertainty I am not sure.
    Thanx

Yes, Vista will work on 32 bit CPUs.

If this is true , it would then run on a 32 bit version would it not? So should I get the Ferrari 4005 or thetravelmate 8104? The Ferrari is 64 bit.
I do lot of dvd authoring and encoding sometime gamer.

I think you should get whatever one you like the best. By the time 64 bit becomes a requirement, you'll have moved on. There is nothing special about DVD authoring or encoding. It might run a little slower on 32 bit, but it will run.

i've heard theat the 64bit version of vista will be very ram hungry and use twice as much of it as the 32bit version. thus - if you get the ferrari you should upgrade memory as well since microsoft recommended 2 gig for the 64bit version. then you should profit from that version.
    cheers

Both of them are excellent laptops - I suggest getting whatever interests you most. I think the Ferrari is a bit overpriced, but that's just because it carries a Ferrari label.

The Ferrari is about $100 US more than the 8104.
