    Hi,

I have a 5749 Acer Aspire Laptop, i3-2350m @2.3Ghz 3GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 3000. Now this laptop came with 2GB RAM and I just added 1GB RAM that I had bought. After adding this 1GB amount there was a nice difference on the frames of my games. Games like MW2, SSF4, etc. ran smoothly...

My question is: If remove that 1GB and add a 2GB which will total my laptop's RAM to 4GB, then will it increase the frames of the games further more as Intel HD Graphics 3000 uses Memory from the RAM?

Yes Intel HD Graphics 3000 uses RAM and upgrading to 4GB or even more will improve smoothness of some game and general responsiveness of the notebook although to what degree depends on a game. If the game in question doesn't use all the available RAM nor adding more RAM won't be of great benefit to you.

nope, it won't increase your fps. The bottleneck right now is in your discrete video card, adding more ram might speed up the load a tiny bit though

the 8600m gt is a significant upgrade over the hd2300. I'd definitely try that out first to see if it's enough of an improvement.

what is your budget? The best thing to do is look on ebay for mxm 2.x cards and see if it fits in your budget. Without knowing the rest of your laptop, its hard to recommend something. The more powerful cards have more hefty power requirements so i'd definitely check if your power brick / laptop can handle it
