Ok i have a Acer (which im not sure what model number lol)

But anyway when my laptop is plugged up and i close the lid is does not go to sleep. Also when i tell it to go to sleep it goes for a second and goes back to the screen for my password.

My settings are set to when i close my lid it is suppose to go off.

Also, when its unplugged everything works fine and like it is suppose to.

try pressing the windows key + f4 and see if that works...if it does...your problem may be with a registry key or something of that nature

I also had this problem with my Acer...turned out that my power settings were set to High Performance and it wouldnt go to sleep for an hour
