I am almost always have my brightness on 0%, will that allow my backlight to last longer for times when I really need it?

I have not heard of problems of backlights/inverters burning out under normal use--is there a specific reason you want to run at 0% brightness? I'd think it would be really hard to see...I could understand running it darker when you're unplugged to save battery life.

Nah for the most part, its fine and easy to see, sometimes I use full darkness though, sometimes I need it because it is hard to see. But for 90% of the time its 20% or lower.

Your computer will be long obsolete before your backlight runs out. Or your other components will break down long before the screen.

If you're worried about keeping ur machine for as long as possible, I think you should concentrate on other components than teh screen.

Plus, I see you want to save your backlight for when you really need it? When is that? Is there a specific time that you need the backlight more than now? Don't you need it everytime you turn on ur machine?

I understand people saving up money for "rainy days" and what not, but I don't think this applies so much to screens.
