I just did a clean install of Win 7 on my 5920G. When I use the volume knob, it controls the volume, but I don't see the "Volume" and level show up on the screen as I used to.

I tried installing the Acer eAudio application (not sure if this is what does it) and get an error (something along the lines of the application can only be installed on authentic machines?). It is a clean, legal version of Win 7.

    Any thoughts?

Interesting, tried installing Acers ERecovery application (as I made some recovery disks years ago) to see if I could recover the apps off of that. Won't even let me install this program (says "not a D2D computer installation failed"??).

Says "this is not a current Operation system". Maybe it was for a non-32 bit version of Windows 7... will see if I can get it on the Acer site.

Nope, 32 bit version being used. Oddly enough, yesterday I lost my Win7 Touchpad driver as well (couldn't get the Synaptics one off the Acer site to install) and need to plug in an external mouse.

Odd problems. Not sure why so many of the Win7 aps and drivers off the Acer site won't install. Very annoying.

Uhm, in your BIOS, turn on D2D recovery (I think that was it), it's in the menu with Quiet Boot, Network Boot etc. (At least for me)

See if that works? (I got an Acer Aspire 7520 though..)

Well, it was the LaunchManager. But for some reason had to completely reinstall windows 7 again (thank God I partitioned) in order to successfully install it. Seems to be working fine now...

    Thanks guys.
