Hello out there, im planning on buying windows 7 ..

I am a proud owner of acer 7520G ,and my lappy started acting slowly after 1 year of horrible terror or windows vista...
I made those recovery cds , also i got that 10gb partition PQSERVICE...
Now will i still be able to use d2d service when i install win 7...
    Should i go upgrade vista>win7 ?
    Should i format C:

IS there a way to make d2d feature work on win 7 using acer application?

    Thanks in advance

    Regards,
    D.A.N.T.E.

Windows 7 is much better on laptops IMO than Vista (and I say based on experience).

Hi Dante, i have just put win 7 on my 8930g, it is much better than vista, be prepared for some drivers not to be avaliable for a while but i think 95% work fine. my advice is do not upgrade but do a clean install.

Don't upgrade if you don't have to. I tried that and I ended up with a 57GB install. Even after I cleaned everything up, it was still too big. Plus a clean install is really fast compared to an upgrade. It's all right in this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=432669

I still have to get a few drivers, but all in all Windows 7 is the easiest Windows install I've ever had to do and it's snappier that Vista.

Hi, I have done a lot of tinkering with Acer computers. I would recommend a clean install to your C partition. This will keep you PQSERVICE partition (recovery) intact just in case, for some ungodly reason, you need to go back to Vista. You would have to though, rebuild the MBR to recognize it again. Or, open command prompt as Run as Administrator, type the commands between the two "

    " Diskpart "
    " Select disk 0 "
    " List partition "
" Select partition X" - X is whatever the number is for the pqservice partition. usually 10mb and usually 1
    " Active "
    " Exit "

Close it and restart and probably will have to hit the keys to activate the recovery which should be ALT and F10.
