    Hi All,

Do you think that tomorrow I will be able to download all win 7 drivers for my laptop AS 6935G? Now I see that there are only few of them.

On the Acer support websites, there are no Windows 7 drivers for older Aspire models like 7720 and 5720. Does anybody know if Windows 7 signed drivers be released for these models? Also, does anybody know if Intel will release Windows 7 drivers and ProSet Software for their WiFi cards?

Vista drivers will work on 7 in almost all cases, so don't worry if any components are missing them.

90% of my Acers have had their drivers on the install DVD, most of the rest were on the windows update, and one really old realtek Lan driver I had to find one for but that machine was 9 years old. It will not matter if Acer has the drivers or not if you know which ones you need just go to the component manufacturers site ( Intel, realtek, Synaptics, etc ) and download from there

5315 isnt an issue for drivers, and the vista Acer Empowering works but I never install it or use it.... guess im a minimalist

and bios updates are not OS dependant if you update from a thumbdrive and a dos shell

What I really want for my Aspire 5610z is a launch manager that work's properly with its shortcut keys.
I had to download and install manually only the PCI memory card reader and cardbus drivers.

Depends - if you do an upgrade install over top Vista, it may still work. If you're doing a clean install, it and all other programs you've installed will be wiped out.

If I were you, I'd make those backup discs before moving to 7.

Well, Tehsuigi, I have just deleted the whole HDD and recreate the new partitions. I did have the D2D Recovery Discs and Driver/Application Disc with me(created it long ago).
But I don't think I am gonna use the D2D Recovery Discs in the future because Windows 7 is just too nice.
By the way, thanks for suggesting me about the Ubuntu Live CD last time.
A few days ago, I was playing around with User Permission and Owner stuffs.
After that, I was screwed up by myself and I did re-install the Windows 7. Then, when I tried to access the D: Drive, it wa corrupted in Windows OSes due to the last User Permission and Owner stuffs I set before I re-install Windows 7. I don't have backups for some of them and even I have the backups, they're not with me(at my hometown). So, I remembered the Ubuntu Live CD which I created long ago. I boot into Ubuntu and grab the things out by my friend's external HDD. I was saved.
    So, thanks.

I currently have the Aspire 7720 and have found Win7 drivers by searching drivers of other later models (7730+, 5730+, etc.) on the Acer support website and matching the applicable hardware.

Realtek HD Audio, NVidia mobile, Intel Chipset, Intel Storage, Broadcom LAN, and Intel Wireless (yes, Intel released Win7 wireless drivers at last) drivers can be found on the respective websites.

I found v7.8 Win 7 Conexant modem, ENE CIR v2.7, and v7.5 ALPS touchpad drivers on the Acer support website for a number of models.

I am still looking for Win7 Acer Launch Manager. Is v3 universal in that it will work with the hotkeys of all Acer models?

I am also looking for Win7 Ricoh card reader drivers.

I have also found a number of Suyin Camera drivers for Win7 as well but don't know if it is appropriate for my webcam.

    Can anyone help? Thanks!

I was hoping for official Acer Empowering applications for Win7 - specialy for Launcher Manager - v3.0 has problems with Wireless button (only turn it OFF, not ON).
Also, my battery is draining faster and is not properly reported by Win7 - it shows that I have 45% left and 40min of running time - and goes to hibernate. After I plug it in and power on, it shows only 6% capacity.

I can survive with no drivers and even Acer Empowering, but they should offer BIOS update. Last one v1.45 is almost a year old.

I had the same problem with battery. Also thought that could be a problem with soft. I tried diffrent Bios versions, installed Empowering soft but nothing helped. I decided to sent laptop to Acer and they gave me a new battery, so if your warranty is still valid, send your laptop to Acer asap.

    no such luck, mate...
out of warranty for over a year. what bothers me, is that while I was running a Vista, the problem didn't manifest it self - it happened when I switched to Win7.

that's why I am hoping for a BIOS update, maybe it will be corrected then. or maybe the battery just died on me...

oh BTW, I downloaded Acer Empowering applications from other Aspire 5xxx models, all with Framework 3.0 - and they work on my Aspire 5315.

also, LaunchManager 3.0.4 is not working 100%...

i know this an old thread.. but I installed Windows 7 on my friend's 7720 laptop today.. I was trying to find the Nvidia GeForce 8400m gs driver. You said you checked other models and found drivers? did you find the video card driver? I checked the drivers for the 7730 and there is a Nvidia driver. does that one work in the 7720?

Also, I noticed they have the drivers for Windows 7 32-bit.. can i use those in my 64-bit installation? or will i have to reinstall windows 7, this time in 32-bit?

For Nvidia GPU drivers, just go to their website.
64-bit Windows needs 64-bit operating systems, but Nvidia has those too.

And again, Vista drivers work happily on 7.

well that's my problem. I tried those from Nvidia. it says "there are no devices detected that support this driver." So then i went to a driver modifier site and tried again, but no luck. And with the vista one, it says OS not supported.
I'll just reinstall windows 7 and this time in 32-bit with my other disc. The Acer website has the driver for 7 32-bit for the 7720 model, but not 64-bit.

nvm I got it, I used the Nvidia driver from the 7730 for Windows 7 64-bit and it worked.. Got Aero enabled and everything.
