Did anyone receive the Windows 7 upgrade disks that were promised when buying a new machine? Interesting would be what exactly you get? 32-bit, 64-bit, both disks? Do you get a licence code to use for activation?
How is your upgrade going? Crashes? How long did it take?

    Post here when yours arrives!

The process Acer is using for the pre-orders and posting of the discs is very slow. Even though I pre-ordered the W7 more than a month ago, I received the email to pay only yesterday. So I paid yesterday but the payment hasn't been confirmed and is still pending.
I guess they haven't even started posting the discs yet.

I got my pre-ordered W7 home premium from PC World on Monday and my copy from Amazon yesterday and I installed on my 3810T straight away.

I paid for my Acer upgrade copy yesterday - will use that to upgrade my home Vista PC (I don't especially want to go through the pain of reinstalling every piece of software on that one).

It seems to be the same process as going from vista to xp it took nearly 2 months after launch last time.

if you got the laptop with 32bit vista then you will be getting 32 bit win 7 upgrade disk
as you cant upgrade from 32 to 64 bit via an upgrade disk

I placed my order for Windows 7 media for a new Acer desktop on September 14. I fully expected Mentor Media, the fulfillment organization that is performing this for Acer, to have been prepared and either sent out the material the day before or day of the release of Windows 7. My order status is still listed as "Pending for Fulfillment" also on their order status site.

For an order placed well over a month in advance, I was expecting more than I'm getting so far. I submitted an inquiry to try and get an ship date. I hope to get it sooner rather than later in that I’m waiting to deploy this new machine to a family member after I rebuild it with Windows 7.

Mentor Media is working very slow with the process.
I paid 3 days ago and the status of the payment is still pending. I asked them how long it will take for the discs to post them to UK and they said 7-10 days. They probably ship them from Taiwan or something.

At least we don't have Toshiba laptop which they will start shipping the upgrade discs in December. What a joke!!!
