I've since reverted back to Vista for stability but I had recently installed Windows 7 on my Aspire notebook. I REALLY miss it though! Vista takes so much effort to get to run as well as 7 and even then it doesn't always work as well.

So, my problem is that my computer shut down a total of 2 times over a few weeks with Windows 7. I couldn't figure out why. I kept seeing 'Kernal-Power' or something like that in the event log. I suppose it could be the battery? Not sure.

Also, there was an issue when rebooting. When I hit the restart button in Windows, it would get all the way to the end of the shut-down process when the screen goes blank and I keep waiting for the ACER boot screen to show, but nothing, it just hangs and I have to hold down the power button. I think I fixed it a few days before I reverted to Vista again because I reinstalled my audio driver, but has anyone else had these issues with Windows 7 on their Acer Aspire 6920?

Also, when I installed Windows 7, I couldn't do a clean install because It wouldn't let me wipe the C drive. Any way to do a clean install?

Kaelang, I haven't had any such issues with Windows 7 on my system.
Surprised it wouldn't let you do a clean install on C:. Were you booting from the DVD, or trying to perform the install while in Vista?

I was doing a boot from the DVD. I got partially through the setup for install of Windows 7 but botched it and started over. Perhaps that's why. I'll try it again when I get home and have access to my boot DVD.
