i have a 3820tg and i upgraded to windows 8 professional but cant get my switchable graphics to work properly...if i run the intel card the desktop is fine but if i switch to the ati 6550m then windows runs both cards simultaneously thinking it is two seperate monitors and thus MAKES me run extended displays, if i try to disable one of the "monitors" it sees then the screen stays black.

i have installed leshcats newest hybrid driver - didnt work
i installed amds newest ccc windows 8 compatible driver - didnt work

the only way i have gotten the ability to use my ati card without the extended display is by switching to discrete mode in the bios which flat out disables my intel card.

    whats the deal?

i had windows 8 on 3820tg for few days but i don't remember if switchable graphics was working. Have you tried unofficial 3820tg drivers? (leshcat?)

    same here!!!

i have only one monitor attached, but display settings shows that extend display function is active. When i connect another display from HDMI port it extends the display. Beside, when i select "show desktop only on 1" and click on apply, screens go black. It looks lıke we have to keep using the laptop on extended display mode.

    any thoughts?
