This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Windows 8 on 7730, no IR

    I tried installing Windows 8 Pro x64 on my Aspire 7730G. Everything works, except for the infrared driver. When I install it, I get a Code 31 exclamation in the Device Manager. I tried the Winbond driver provided by Windows Update and also some Nuvoton drivers (Nuvoton being the same company). All give the same problem.

    Has anyone else tried Windows 8 on the 7730? If so, did you get the IR working?
