I have an Acer TM4002, it comes with XP home, I didn't use with it for long than I upgrade to XP Pro. Now I sometime got Windows blue screen - crash. It's not very often it happens like that. but it is still annoying to me that I have to restart windows.
My question is, is this nomal? should I call Acer service to have this problem fix?

Don't upgrade (install on top) from Windows XP Home to XP Pro. Remove the old OS and install XP Pro from a clean formatted HDD. Older files/drivers/settings used in XP Home may not be compatible with XP Pro and could cause the blue screen.

Venom is right, back up all your files and install the OS with a totally reformatted HD and you shouldn't have any issues.

My Acer 1681 came with XP home and after I redid my desktop with XP Pro I installed Pro on my laptop also after redoing the HD, no issues and works like a charm.

    Hey guyz,

I had the BSOD numerous times....in reinstalled windows..etc..still the same..

I did a test using memtest86..then it showed errors on 1 of my ram sticks..fortunately i had 2x512MB..i took out 1..and there aren't any errors..i guess 1 of the sticks are defective..
(i even ran the test after reformatting..same erros)

Just a though, BSOD could be caused by bad ram as well..
