    srry if this is a repost.
    But if u buy a Acer laptop, how do u get a hold of that WindowsXP CD...

    If you bought your laptop with a backup windows XP CD, it should came with it. However, if your laptop came with RESTORE CD, you need to purchase the XP CD separate.

    Acer does not provide a Windows XP CD as Microsoft would expect them to do (just like many other suppliers).
    They only provide a restore partition (on your HD) and a system CD plus 2 Restore CDs containing an image of a pre-installed Windows.

    However, you can create your own Windows CD from this

    Yes, so im allowed to get the /WXPLICENSE.ock or whatever file(s) they are and make my own windowsxp cd?
