    Hi, I'm suprised at the lack of replies, seeing all the fuss that's been made about Acer's bios not having the VT switch...

    That's great! Though I did see an article out on zdnet about security holes being opened up with WinXP running virtually...

    My processor doesn't have VT so I never got further than that, I always assumed the bios would have been the next stumbling block but never checked. I'll give it a go now just for the heck of it. Thanks for the heads up.

    You will still need Win7 professional or above for xp mode to work, also it does not work for games :(

    Already converted my XP Mode image to a VMware Player virtual machine.
    Far better for playing games.

    Download and install VMware Player from here.
    Then, open it up, and pick "Import Windows XP Mode VM" from the File menu. It'll create a fresh XP installation in a virtual machine for you to have fun with.

    Thank you. That is a marked improvement over the M$ XP Mode and Ubuntu was an easy install also. I'll still stick with the M$ one to run certain apps on top of 7, it' just too convenient.
