    Guys

I got Acer Aspire 5570z from best buy a month ago in Las Vegas.

I have serious problems with that stupid machine.

1-) The keyboard stokes doesnt notice most of the time
    Example:
aa s ff gg h jj kk kk ll ; zz x

When i try to write "2007" it runs like "207".

On the other hand, backspace button pauses when you keep pushing.

    2-) Touchpad is behaving erraticly.
I tried every kind of driver , but didnt find any solution

3-) The Speakers are like a radio player.
The max volume is like a stupid radio. Even i cant hear.

Compared to all of my laptop so far, this deserves the award of worst laptop ever.

    bigspin,
thanks for your support. There i can see no driver for 5570z in support page.

The most similar one is 5570. Do you think, they have the same bios ???

Yes you can use 5570 driver or BIOS(Same model with few HW change. :D
    Eg:Aspire 5920G & Aspire 5920H use same bios,but H version use 8600M GS VGA instead of 8600M GT)

    thanks bigspin

    my old bios was 3505.

    There is no new one.
    I downgraded to 3216 now.

The keyboard stroke "notice" problem seems not over.

Any way. I have to find a brand new bios.

    Thanks for support again

the thing is that, now i am in Turkey
There is no way i can go back to vegas or find a best buy close to me.

May be next year, but it is gonna be too late.

(Note: The keyboard problem is just a little bit better. maybe %40 less. but not over.)

    Thanks anyway.

ahhh. that's to bad, well I am feeling your pain, my computer is a piece of crap, and I have told acer that... oh well, now the main board is doing funny things now, the fans are randomly turning on and off. I guess when the fan dies acer can just spend more money fixing this thing...

Some HP laptops had a similar problem. Resetting the the keyboard ribbon cable on the motherboard seem to help. It might be worth looking into.

As an owner of an Acer 5570z, I have experienced the same proble for the touchpad, what you need to do is go to Windows Mobility Center, and then reinstall the mouse driver. That should fix the entire touchpad, scroll Pad, and scroll strips!

About the speakers, that is supposed to be like that, you should consider a new or better sound card, Acer however passes off this stuff as an HD audio package.

I have had a similar problem with ACER 5570Z for a few months. The touchpad buttons and keyboard work intermittingly. (Unfortunately, whenever I take it back to Best Buy under warranty (twice now), the touchpad buttons and keyboards work fine.)

It started with left button on touchpad and I switched to a mouse for a while and it was fine. For a while, neither the keyboard nor mouse worked while in Japan and took it into a service center which attributed the problem to a keyboard spill that never happened.

Not sure what to do at this point. It will work fine for hours and then stop working. Now that I'm back in the US, I will try to get Acer/Best Buy to honor the warranty. But the intermittent nature of the problem is frustrating.

I'm encouraged that ACER Taiwan may have a BIOS fix soon if earlier post is true.

Have you tried running without the battery in? Some older models suffered from faulty batteries drawing too much pawer from the mainboard which then caused faults with the keyboard and mouse. If not it sounds like a fault on the mainboard. Hope that helps

I have an Aspire 5570z with the same issue.

I've found out that this problem with the keyboard occurs when you're using the battery..........

I removed the battery and this ****in' keyboard issue has gone.

But I didn't tried a BIOS upgrade yet... don't know if it solves. Hope Acer give us a solution someday...

I recently bought a used Acer 5570z and it was alright. It was slow especially on startup I did notice that typing fast some letters didn't register right away.

I then installed Linux and wiped all that M$ bs off and now it's amazing with no problems at all. It's like a completely different machine.

I have basicaly the same problem. I found a bios patch @ acer's website. The version is 3505. 3 questions:

    1) Model 5507z is this the right bios patch?
    2) Will flashing the bios fix the keyboard crappiness issue?
    3) Will it kill the computer?

Hi So I just bought a Acer 5570z. All of A sudden last week while doing some work the keyboard gave in. The only keys that will work are f,q,1,3. The Touch pad is acting crazy as well.

When I first bought I put Xp Pro in and it worked fine for about 6 weeks.
Then when the problem occured I tried many sulutions.
    1. update Bios
    2. Reinstall xp
    3. Reinstall Drivers
    4. Reset Ribbon Cable
    5. Install new keyboard
    6. Clean the Keyboard connection
    NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK.
Have there been any known solutions to this issue with the exception of installing linux.
    I would appreciate any feedback
    Thanks :)

I don't how updating the Bios would help if it was working when it left Acer..I guess the bios could have been damage somehow. I would also check for trojans/viruses and like the other guy said the ribbon.

I cant say anything bad about the 5570z; when my screen broke on my 3680, I replaced it with a 5570z screen from ebay :D I left the little sticker on the screen so it looks like its a 5570z. Lol. Many many parts are interchangable between the 3680 & 5570z - the whole screen assembly being just one.

    Hello every body.
there are very nice comments about 5570z.

I am also using acer 5570z. i bought it 2 year before. it was containing vista basic OS.
It was fuking to slow with 512mb ram. i just format the whole hardisk and instal win xp it works bingo..
i recently upgraded it with 1 GB ram and now total ram is 1.5GB. its now quite good in performance.

In my case (ALHUMDULILLAH) every hardware is working quite well.
i got problem with my screen its going to be dim little. it is not bright as it was at start.

the second problem is about battery. in recent days i notice that the fuking battery is going to die. it is giving me maximum 45 min.

    any solutions for these problem.

Hi, yes contact technical, you have a faulty keyboard that I can't see how a bios update, that doesn't exist it seems, will fix. No need to lose your cool over it, Acer produce some fine and reliable products, you will always get a faulty one with any manufacturer...

Tis normal. My screen is not as bright as it was too when new.
And my battery is also on it's last legs.

My Acer is almost three years old/young. Pretty good for a lappie that works about 15 hours a day. No other problems.

    Cheers

I dont know if I would say this is the worst laptop. It's certainly got it's quirks. I am having a battery issue / problem. Since I got the thing whenever the battery is installed, the screen is dim.

Now it is affecting power up. The laptop WILL NOT power on with the batter installed, even if the power brick is plugged in. I guess it is because the battery is drawing too much power from the mobo.

The other issues with keys / touchpad I never experienced after installing Windows XP, and the current BIOS.

The 5570z is the same, at the assembly level, as the Aspire 3680. Try using the latest bios from that.

Conversely, these units have known Keyboard issues. You're probably going to have to replace it. The part is typically $25-$40US depending on where you get it (eBay is your friend here!).

Quiet sound can be fixed by updating the sound drivers.

Erratic touchpad behavior is usually indicative of a failing touchpad, on those models. Or a failing SuperIO. Not generally a good sign.

    Hope I could help.
