I am trying to install Windows XP Professional (Korean) on my acer 2012 wlmi. Since I bought it in Europe, it came with Windows XP Home (Multi-lingual UK,FR,NL version).

The windows xp pro cd i have is a stand alone version.

So does this mean I need to boot using the cd and format my whole hdd before i proceed installation?

and what about the individual drivers that i manually install??

    Hi phase11,
you do not need to format the hard drive, but I would just to clean it up. Remember XP requires activation, so if you have already installed and activated it on another system you will not be able to activate the notebook install of XP until microsoft gets confirmation that the other system has had XP deactivated.

You should be able to get all the drivers you need from the Acer driver page if they did not give you a cd with the drivers on it.

    good luck
