Hi all, just recently inherited a Acer Aspire 3600. Was wondering how to use the hidden partition to get stuff working. I have lost my recovery discs and currently my Windows XP is acting weirdly. I was wondering how to use the recovery partition to restore Windows back to factory defaults. Thanks.

you could try pressing alt+f10 on bootup to go to the recovery console

I dont know if your model supports this, but give it a try.

    regards

    John.

Well Alt + F10 works for me. I was wondering how do I fix the Windows from the Recovery Partition. Pressed Alt + F10, then it brings you into a setup, I completed the setup, then well it didnt reformat the current windows. that setup only set it up on the recovery partition. Now when i Alt + F10, it boots me to Windows XP on the Recovery Partition, but I was wondering how to get it to fix the Main Windows XP Partition.

    Hi.

when i press alt+f10 on bootup, it gives me the option to reset my computer to the default factory setup.

I am running vista, so yours is most likely different.

    regards

    John.
