My 5820TG came with a AUO40EC LCD panel.

This panel is really really bad.
The brightness is much bellow any other, the colors are bad, the view angles are also much below average, the worse of all, it has some very weird issues of pixels "dancing" on static images depending on the color being displayed.

I owned several other laptops before this, including ACERs, my girlfriend has a 3820TG which has a decent screen.

Would Acer replace my LCD panel(for free) with something better if I contacted them ?

This LCD is garbage and it doesn't serve my purpose. The whole awesome laptop is invalidated by the screen.

Most likely, Acer will not replace the screen on your 5820TG, but will send you a replacement laptop (under warranty) if you can prove that your screen is defective.

It's worth a shot. I would call and talk to them at the Depot of email them from the Acer website.

I did some research on the panel that came in mine and I found out that it is a issue with every one of those panels. There are threads about it in this very forum, it's just a really bad panel.

    it's not defective.

Mine is also the AUO40EC (Which, as I just found out, has the real name of AUO B156WX04 V.0). I thought it had a dithering issue with bright shades of colors, but recently confirmed otherwise - it doesn't. I had a Lenovo Y450 before which had a really bright AUO screen, so automatically I tried to match the brightness with this one, and with brightness/contrast jacked up high, it showed those dithering pixelated artifacts.

Which leads to the problem it has - its backlight is just too dim (on max brightness without going into pixelated gradient distortion levels). With brighter backlight the pixelated feel of the screen could be lost but NO, they just have to use weak backlights with this one which caused all these sorts of issues.
