    Would this work:

    My Alt + F10 doesn't work, and unfortunately I didn't burn Recovery CD's!!

My friend bought the exact same laptop, can I use his recovery CD? Then if i have issues with XP license I'll just put in my licence??

Then you have a solution : I think this will work ! BUT : you will probably run the same xp, with the same serial, that means microsoft will probably register this as a hacked key... Or perhaps the key will be found on the hidden partition, so no problem. To be sure, download a little utility that shows your XP serial. run it on your friend's pc, note the key. Then reinstall yours with his recovery cd, and BEFORE configuring your connection to web, run the app on your laptop. If it's the same key, don't connect, this utility will allow you to change the key so try the one on the label under your pc, but I think tis won't work... In this eventuality, you'll need to use the method I gave you by private message, in order to make a new legal copy of windows. I hope this can help, shall you manage to reinstall xp successfully, and legally.

PS : the app for finding your os key :
