    XP and Vista on Aspire 5100?

    I have the Aspire 5100 with XP media center edition 32bit,since the processor is capable of running 64bit I thougt of installing Vista 64bit edition.But can use both XP and Vista,with boot menu,like I can with Win98 and Win Xp?

    Yes, I believe you can use it. However, the benefit of 64-bit Windows Vista will not be seen for long time yet, as almost all consumer programs do not use 64-bit in their programing. So, even though your processor is 64-bit, it will not be taken advantage of. Also, Winows Vista still has some driver issues, and bugs in general.

    Ok,going to try Vista for fun to se how it works:So the installer wont erase anything I have on the disk then,and it will make a boot menu?

    I have 32 bit Vista Business on my 5100 - works great no driver issues after install the XP ENE driver from Acer.

    Do a Windows update after the install, MS had a bunch of updated drivers
