Sorry the SU4100 doesn't support virtualisation. And it's a BGA chip so you can't replace it (unless you have a BGA reworking station),

No... I could be wrong but... WinUlt64bit supports XP mode...I believe without virtualization...
I am expecting the same laptop witin the next week and will be installing that OS on it. -

No hardware virtualisation
XP Mode requires hardware virtualisation. -
It won't work without virtualization.
I have W7 x64 Pro on my Studio 1555(P8600, with VT support) and with VT disabled(on BIOS level) I was unable to use XP Mode. -
you'll need virtualization to run VirtualPC.
If you have a valid XP license, just use vmware player or virtual box. -
As above without VT you cannot use VirtualPC but there are plenty of other options out there that do not require VT.
VMware player is free.. http://www.vmware.com/products/player/ -
VirtualBox is your answer. Doesn't VMPlayer too require hardware virtualiztion?
-
No not that I could see. VMware workstation in general will use if if you have it but does not require it.

There're leaked patches to allow XP mode on SU4100(and other no VT-x processors), these are not officially released yet but do have proper MS digital signature.
Just search "KB977206" on Google.
