Got the laptop yesterday :D Was going to change to XP straight away but Vista isn't as bad as i remember....but need it for a couple of things still. Going to try and install on the other partition that was already there and i found most of the drivers i need.

However I get the blue screen after its loads the XP cd before i can do anything, saying about checking for virusus and faulty HDD or something. Is there anything i can do to fix? I think i read about having to include the XP drivers on the XP cd or something

    thanks!

    You need the sata drivers.

As said in above post, you need to get some sata drivers so the XP installation can recognise your HDD.

A way a lot of people do this is to slipstream the drivers into a custom xp installation disk using a program called nlite. Below is a guide on how to do this:

Another way is to go into your bios and change the sata mode from ACHI to IDE, this will enable you to install XP. Once intalled you would then have to go about installing the sata drivers for your system. This may be trickier than it sounds.
