    I went to Best Buy last night to purchase a Acer 5920 (currently on sale at $1,099.99). I get down there and the sales person said that they had eight of them, and that he had just this one left, and that he had just opened the top, but got called away before he could put it on display. I told him i was interested in it, and since it was technicaly opened could he do any better on the price... He said i could have it for $969.00!!! Now i have some spare cash to swap out the 1.5GHz to a 2.4GHZ screamer!!

    This notebook is awsome!! BTW.. The sale ends today. :)

    Sounds like a very good deal. I'm considering getting one too when I'm in LA next week since the european version doesnt have HD-DVD and is like $500 more. It does have a 2 ghz CPU though. I'm wondering how hard it'll be to change the CPU in this laptop.....

    You can get the 2.0GHZ 5920 from the Best Buy "business" website only. It's almost $2,000.00 though!! , and there on backorder. Your better of buying the 1.5GHZ, and dropping in a 2.4GHZ. You'll end up with a monster of a machine!!

    I just hope that someone else here (with experiance on doing this) will do a step by step with photos. You can clearly see the CPU at this link.. It shows a photo of a 5920 with the bottom cover off;

    This is (hopefully) one of the recurring sales that comes and goes on a 3 week cycle. Most BB laptop sales are, so I expect this one to be as well. If it is still there in September, I will probably buy one.

    Getting it for 969 is pretty awesome, an even better deal than $1100! The 1.5GHz CPU is still pretty decent, since its still Core 2 Duo. However, a CPU upgrade to the T7300/7500/7700 should be pretty easy.
