This Acer Chaser update denotes two new models of Aspire 6935/8930 to be released on October 1st, both of which should make a few mouths slobber.
Aspire AS8930-6782 - $2,499
Core 2 Duo P9500 - 2.53 GHz, 6MB L2 Cache, 1066 FSB
2x500GB Hard Drives (ONE TERABYTE?!)
4GB DDR2-667 RAM (not sure if that's right - Acer Canada's RAM specs are all over the place for the new Centrino 2 models)
NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GT 512MB - those faster clocks should be able to push pixels a LOT faster than the 9600M GT or the 9650M GS
Blu-Ray/Super Multi optical drive
18.4" WUXGA 16:9 screen
9-cell battery
Windows Vista Ultimate
Aspire AS6935-6929 - $1,999
Core 2 Duo P9500 - 2.53 GHz, 6MB L2 Cache, 1066 FSB
320GB 7200rpm Hard Drive - the first time this one's being used in an Acer!
4GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT 512MB
Blu-Ray/Super Multi optical drive
16" WUXGA 16:9 - 1080p model!
8-cell Battery
Windows Vista Home Premium
If you've got the scratch, these models will be beasts for you.
Still no word on the US models, but this should at least give you a preview of what to expect south of the 49th.
The 9700M GT is a nice touch.

Yeah, good specs. But not good enough.
8930 -> 17"+; 2HDDs - ok, No RAID !!
Could have used the 9800M GT/GTS, much better than a 9700M GT (or 8700M GT).
HM500LI, slower than my WD3200BEVT.
6935 -> Still MXM-II
Acer doesn't know what a X9100 is, so no OCing options in the BIOS.
Vista 64 ? Not mentioned in the Manuals. So, 4GB ?! and still no DDR3 (2500 BUX)
+ Price for both is really high in the UK.
But, I am still eyeing the 5930G.
You Want Power, Canada? You Got It!
