Hello,
I have a Acer Aspire Notebook, with 512 RAM (2*256 Mb) This notebook has shared videomemory. So 64 mb goes off the 512 mb.
Now I bought two banks of 1 Gb, the RAM will be 2 Gb, but the videomemory goes backn to 32 Mb. If I do one bank off 1 Gb, the videomemory is 64mb. If I change the banks in the slots, makes no diffrent. In the BIOS, I can't change anything about the memory, it only show 64 mb with 1 bank off 1 gb, or 32 mb with 2 banks off 1 gb. The RAM memory goes allright.
Thanks a lot allready, greetings from the Netherland

in the Bios under video memory does it have the option for DVMT. if yes, set the video memory to that.
then Start/run type "dxdiag" this will show you how much memory the graphics has to call on.
the laptop will only show how much memory it is using

Thanks for your reply. I have checked my bios, but I haven't that option.
Only what I can see (not change) is;
system memory
Extended memory
videomemory
My biosverion is Phoenix ZP1 Q3A29
The strange thing I is, when I do one module off 1 gb in the computer, there is 64 mb videomemory, when I do 2 modules (each 1Gb) then the videomemory is 32 mb. (I try also the other module alone, but makes no diffrent.
This modules I use; Transcend 1GB MEMORY MODULE STD 200P DDR333 SODIMM. (PC2700/64Mx8/2.5-3-3)
Thanks Jack -
